Arc De Triomphe Betting

There was a shock winner of the Arc with the 33/1 outsider Solemia getting up to pip Orfevre on the line to give Olivier Peslier his fourth win in the race. The Arc De Triomphe Odds showed that Camelot started the race as favourite but the Derby winner was unable to land a blow under Frankie Dettori and he will now be put away for the winter.

Last year we had a shock winner of the Arc in the form of Danedream but the filly will not be one of the Arc De Triomphe Runners this season after a disease outbreak at her yard in Cologne. Her scratching has left the race wide open with Camelot a major player for Aidan O'Brien having already won the 2000 Guineas and the Epsom Derby this season.

Japan look to have a real contender this season in the form of the highly exciting Orfevre. He has had a great career in his homeland and after winning the Prix Foy recently he has been slashed in the betting to be the first winner of the Arc De Triopmhe from Japan at the start of October.

Another horse to consider in the ante post betting is the excellent St Nicholas Abbey who seems to be in good form for Aidan O'Brien in Ireland. He picked up the Breeders Cup Turf last November which highlights his class but was beaten out of sight recently by the great Frankel in the Juddmonte at York.

Arc De Triomphe 2012

Last year the race was won by the excellent Danedream who completed a brilliant season with his shock win at Longchamp at a big price. One of her main adversaries was St Nicholas Abbey and he is likely to be back in 2012 and featuring heavily in the latest Arc De Triomphe Odds following a a top class season as a five-year-old.

Ballydoyle and Aidan O'Brien always have a strong hand at Longchamp with two good chances in the Arc De Triomphe Form Guide. O'Brien looks to have a good chance of claiming his third win in the race with Camelot and St Nicholas Abbey among others looking like potential runners at this stage.
