Arc De Triomphe Odds 2011 - Fame And Glory
Aidan O'Brien and Ballydoyle always have a strong hand in the big races across Europe and the 2011 Arc De Triomphe is no different, the leading contender for O'Brien at Longchamp will be the excellent Fame And Glory. He has come back as a four-year year stronger than ever and looking to improve on his run in the race last year, and few would back against that based on his form so far this season and he heads to france well backed.
Latest Arc De Triomphe Fame And Glory 2011 Odds
Fame And Glory had a great career as a three-year old including a win in the Irish Derby, but more often than not played second fiddle to the brilliant Sea The Stars. He could never quite compete with the superstar John Oxx horse but is as a four-year old looks to be making a name in his own right. He has won his last four races and looks to be in great shape for a big tilt at Longchamp, he has been off the track since the start of August but has been aimed at the race and should be on top form.
Perhaps his best run so far this season was his excellent win in the Coronation Cup at the Derby meeting at Epsom, he was impressive that day as he held off a spirited charge from Dual Oaks winner Sariska. Since then we saw him in the Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh at the start of August, he was impressive without needing to be sensational that day and goes straight to France.
On form this year he has to be in with a real chance of going well in the Arc, he could well be the strongest challenger outside of France this year and looks to have every chance. There does have to be a slight worry about him though if we look at his run in the Arc last year, he went into that race well backed but never got involved in the finish after looking a little keen early on. He will need to take to Longchamp a lot better this year but if he does he will be in with a real chance of claiming the glory.
