The Freddy Head trained Galikova has improved with every run this season and goes into the Arc De Triomphe as one of the leading contenders in the betting. Galikova is the sister of the wondermare Goldikova who of course has plenty of group 1 wins to her name over a mile but she appears to appreciate the extra trip on offer in the Arc. Galikova looks to be one of the more impressive three-year-olds in the field this year with derby winner Pour Moi now retired, she will have a tough task against her elders but she is clearly a classy type who could run well.

Galikova has been particularly impressive in her last two starts with consecutive wins in the Prix Guillaume D'Ornano at Deauville and last time out in the Prix Vermeille at Longchamp in Arc Trials day. The Prix Vermeille win was the win that made the bookmakers took note of her Arc chances, she proved she stayed the trip on soft ground which was in question and beat a good field to win a tough looking Group 1. There were one or doubts about the Arc trip for Galikova before the Vermeille win given the history of her illustrious older sister who has thrived over the shorter one mile trip. Those doubts now appear to be unfounded and she goes to Longchamp with every chance of being in the mix on Arc day, it maybe be a big ask for her to win but she looks a great each-way price.
