Leading Jockeys

There are a number of Jockey who have excelled in the race with the likes of Kieran Fallon winning the race in 2007 and also the 2005 winner on Hurricane Run but he will not be riding in 2008 as he is currenlty serving a drugs ban. You can never discount the little Italian Frankie Dettori who won the race in 2001 and 2002. Olivier Peslier won the race three times in a row between the years 1996 and 1998. One name to keep an eye on for the 2008 Arc De Triomphe betting is Johnny Murtagh who won the race in 2000 with Sindar but is now riding for Aiden O'Brien.

Kieran Fallon

Kieran Fallon is currently serving a drug ban and will not be riding in 2008 having won the race in 2007 and 2005, but we expect that he will make a comeback at some point next year and make sure that you always check out his selected horse as there is no better jockey to put your hard earned cash on. Kieran has never being out of the news in recent years after his high profile court case linking him with stopping horses but that is now behind him having being clear of any wrong doing.

Frankie Dettori

Riding for the Godolphin operation Frankie will always come into this race with a leading fancy. Frankie loves the big occassion and while the Godolphin operation is going through a lean spell with classic and group 1 winners. Frankie last won this race in 2002 with Marienbard and this was his second in succession having won the year before on Sakhee.

Johnny Murtagh

Johnny Murtagh is the number 1 jockey with the Aiden O'Brien yard and as such he will have a choice of who he can ride in the 2008 Arc. The current favourite is Soldier of Fortune but the Coolmore operation may have another horse that he could get on board come nearer race day. Johnny has already won the race in 2000 on Sindar.
